We have fully funded places for primary and secondary schools to take part in our Kite Works Programme, which provides STEM-based professional development for 2 teachers in your school. This cross-curricular programme allows pupils to design, build and fly their own kites, while interacting with engineers in class and celebrating their engineering skills and achievements at the end of the programme.
Our Kite Works programme uses the design and building of kites to explore materials, creative problem solving including the science and maths involved in kite design. The programme has strong cross-curricular links and aligns closely to careers in the aviation and aerospace sector, as well as many others.
We provide complete kits for two learning levels, designed to allow Upper Primary and Lower Secondary classes to participate in the programme.

All teachers on the programme will receive...
Free kit for 70 Kite Works project builds – enough for 70 children to each build their own kite.
One full day teacher training, preparing you to deliver the project in class.
A full kit of tools, materials and consumables needed to build kites and all the digital resources required for your classroom delivery.
Once signed up, teachers will receive their training date where they will join the rest of the cohort to learn all the skills required to teach engineering in the classroom. The full-day training is highly practical & informative and aimed at not only providing training but also increased confidence in delivering STEM-based whole class projects.
The programme then rounds off with an In-School celebration event that invites all of your pupils to celebrate their engineering skills and achievements
