‘Engineering a Career’ is a new short course perfect for school career leads and guidance teachers. It highlights opportunities for cross-subject interests leading to amazing careers in Engineering.

Participants are engaged with a unique and exciting range of engineering careers and classroom activities, including a live competition, specialist engineering professionals, and a visit to a leading local engineering industry. Pupils learn about all the opportunities of an engineering career linked to their favourite subjects, and course participants are able to better advise their pupils about subject choices and career pathways.

BY TAKING PART YOU WILL:

  • Educate your pupils and colleagues on the variety of exciting career opportunities in engineering, utilising a broad range of skills linked to multiple cross-curriculum subject areas.
  • Understand how careers in engineering can be linked to multiple subjects and interests, and signpost these to both pupils and colleagues.
  • Create exciting engineering career profiles and case studies, from expert industry professionals to the classroom and your colleagues.

UNIQUE FEATURES:

  • Limited number of Fully Funded Bursaries (including up to £200 cover costs) available to start on the 15th of May 2024.
  • Flexible online course, with recognised accreditation, associated CPD points and aligned with Gatsby Benchmarks.
  • Designed and delivered by teaching and training experts in 5 Units, over 15 weeks (3 hours per Unit, 1 hour per week).
  • Engaging with a live school competition, leading engineering professionals, an industry site visit and unique career insights.

TIMELINE FOR APPLICATIONS:

  • The deadline for fully funded bursary applications is 12.00 on 30/04/24.
  • The course will commence on the 15/05/24.
