‘Engineering a Career’ is an engaging new short course designed specifically for school career leads and guidance teachers. Packed with unique insights, this flexible 15-hour online program will help you unlock the wealth of cross-subject opportunities, leading to rewarding engineering careers for your students.

Structured across 5 units over 15 weeks, the course offers recognised accreditation and valuable CPD points. Developed by teaching experts, it aligns with the Gatsby Benchmarks and Career Education Standard 3-18, ensuring you deliver high-quality careers guidance.

Participants will dive into hands-on activities, including a live school competition, meetings with top engineering professionals, and an industry site visit. You will gain the tools to educate your pupils and colleagues on the diverse array of exciting engineering paths, and confidently signpost the relevant subject choices and career pathways. All this comes with support from Primary Engineer, but you can also engage with other local teachers taking part too.

UNIQUE FEATURES:

  • A limited number of Funded Bursaries (worth up to £695 per bursary) are available to start now. Please complete the application form below to secure your funded bursary.
  • This is a flexible online 15 hr course, structured in 5 Units, completed over 15 weeks (3 hours per Unit, 1 hour per week).
  • The course has been designed and delivered by teaching and training experts and is aligned with Gatsby Benchmarks/Career Education Standard 3-18.
  • You will engage with a live school competition, leading engineering professionals, an industry site visit and acquire unique career insights.
