A Great Final Update on the UpClip Prototype!
Completion
The UpClip prototype has now been successfully completed through the combined efforts of the CAA STEM ProtoTeam, the Design, Manufacturing and Engineering Management team at the University of Strathclyde, and pupil Jacob, whose original idea inspired the project!
The collaboration between all those involved has demonstrated the value of teamwork, creativity, and shared expertise. From the initial design stages through to manufacturing, the project has shown how a pupil’s idea can grow into a real engineering solution!
The Final UpClip Prototype
Using three dimensional printing technology, the final UpClip model was produced and prepared for exhibition. The finished prototype reflects the core elements of Jacob’s original design while showcasing the collaborative effort that brought it to life.

Celebrating Success
The completed UpClip was unveiled on 9 July at the University of Manchester, marking the culmination of months of planning, design, and development.
The project has been a fantastic example of how young people’s ideas can inspire innovation and bring together organisations from different sectors to create something meaningful. The team would like to thank Jacob for his enthusiasm and input throughout the journey and are delighted to have seen his idea become a reality!
