Thales Cheadle: The Rainbow Glasses Prototype – First Update!

Recap

Thales Cheadle are turning Year 5 Pupil Millie Rainbow Glasses into a reality with their prototype as part of a continued partnership between Thales and Primary Engineer! Her idea is a pair of glasses with interchangeable coloured lenses to help people with Dyslexia read easily.

What has happened since the last update?

So far, the team has,

  • Settled on a LED solution
  • Have procured almost all items needed. (Some small parts still required)
  • Final Stages of testing, just need to begin assembling all our parts.
  • Frame is on V5 where we are looking to refine the structure of the glasses to accommodate the internal wiring

What’s the next step?

It’s all coming together quite nicely and we can’t wait for the next update on this prototype!

Thales Cheadle will unveil this prototype at the next Greater Manchester Awards Ceremony and Public Exhibition on the 15th July. Book your tickets here!
