Primary Engineer® Time Machines

Take a hands-on journey through time with this brand new programme from Primary Engineer

We have fully funded places for 15 primary schools to take part in our exclusive pilot ‘Time Machines’.

Two teachers from your school will be invited to a full day of hands-on training, providing them with the skills to take the programme into the classroom. Every teacher will be provided with a full kit, worth £450, and a suite of curriculum mapped resources that will allow an entire class to learn about the history and engineering of watches, time pieces and the importance of time.

This pilot is completely free to schools thanks to the support of the George Daniels Trust.

This is an exclusive pilot programme running in the 2025/26 academic year,
with only 15 schools in Greater Manchester being able to participate.

There will be physical training which all teachers will attend, with pupils
then coming together for a joint school celebration event in early 2026.

All resources, training and lesson plans have curriculum links to Maths, English,
Art & Design, History, Geography, Science, Music, Computing and DT.

Availability is on a first come first serve basis, so make sure you secure your place and join us on an exploration of time.

  • Please read our Terms & Conditions All Primary Engineer resources are copyright and site licensed to schools registered with Primary Engineer. It is prohibited to use with any school not registered with Primary Engineer.
  • Cancellation: Primary Engineer offer free to schools programmes through funding from our partner organisations. Training is available for up to any two teachers from the school. If no teacher from your school is able to attend your booked training session you must notify Primary Engineer to arrange for it to be altered no later than 48 hours before your course date. Failure to do this or non-attendance of training will be chargeable to the school at a rate of £45 per re-booking. Additionally, the cost of returning the free resources provided will also be borne by the school. Involvement in the programme requires completion of all aspects of the course including pre and post evaluations and attending a celebration event. Schools may be subject to further costs if they fail to attend the celebration event or don't complete the course.
