Early Years Engineer For Reception and Early Years

This course is specifically designed for Reception and Early Years practitioners and will introduce inquiry based learning through a series of practical projects, in order to encourage early years pupils to become Early Years Engineers.

This fantastic course enables early years practitioners to support children in exploring a range of key STEM concepts at an early age. Teachers will cover three practical activities throughout the day and see these through the eyes of their pupils. The course will provide examples that can easily be developed in school and use low cost readily available materials. Teachers will be able to share their pedagogical approaches, skills and experiences.

Outcomes:

  • Resource kits of tools and consumables provided as part of the course 
  • This course will give teachers a range of activities that can be integrated into the curriculum.
  • Learn how to apply simple experiments in STEM subjects to real life projects.
  • Teachers will take away working models and have access to online classroom teaching resources.

Materials are prohibited from use with any school not registered with Primary Engineer. Primary Engineer offer free to schools programmes through funding from our partner organisations. Training is available for up to any two teachers from the school. If no teacher from your school is able to attend your booked training session you must notify Primary Engineer to arrange for it to be altered no later than 24 hours before your course date. Failure to do this or non-attendance of training will be chargeable to the school at a rate of £45 per re-booking. Additionally, the cost of returning the free resources provided will also be borne by the school. Involvement in the programme requires completion of all aspects of the course including pre and post evaluations and attending a celebration event. Schools may be subject to further costs if they fail to attend the celebration event or don't complete the course.
