The Learning Grid meets the needs of students, teachers and
businesses by setting a Quality Standard, support and often
funding for inter-disciplinary programmes and competitions for
young people that are linked to engineering, science, design,
technology or mathematics. Some of the approved initiatives
are included as part of the National Curriculum for those subjects
and are designed to inspire young people through their experiences
at school to become tomorrow's scientists, technicians, engineers
and designers. Only those activities that have been scrutinised
by an Independent panel of educationalists can use the 'Approved' stamp more...

Promethean has worked closely with Primary Engineer and EduVision
who have developed a unique series of interactive resources
for teachers. This is a distinctive partnership designed to
widen the use of visual learning techniques for Design and Technology
in primary classrooms. Each digital lesson has a starter activity,
investigation, design activity, lesson objectives, animated
word walls and plenaries all peppered with video animation and
sound. With over 2.5 million children in over 70 countries around
the world using Promethean technology we realise the value of
working with digital content developers. We hope to see this
partnership light the flame of learning in younger children,
inspiring them to become “Engineers of the Future”. more… |

The National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics was set up in 2006 to lead on the provision of high quality CPD opportunities for all teachers of mathematics, from early years and primary through A Level and for teachers of adult learners. To do this the National Centre works with partners across mathematics education to promote mathematics CPD opportunities through its online learning community: www.ncetm.org.uk - through its Courses and Events directory, by providing tools and resources, by undertaking and disseminating research into what makes effective CPD, and by providing an online environment through which teachers can share and discuss their professional learning with colleagues across England. The National Centre is working with Primary Engineer to support the mathematics strand of its work. |
